Auditions for the PSYE 2026-27 season will open on March 4, 2026. Applications, required excerpts, and detailed information for completing your online audition will be available at that time.

Are You Eligible?

Members of PSYE must meet the following requirements during the 2025-26 season:
- Actively participate with your school music program to the satisfaction of your school music director during the 2025-26 school year.
- Study the instrument you are auditioning on with a private teacher during the 2025-26 school year.
Meet the following grade/age requirements as of September 1, 2025:
- Santiago Strings – Grades 6-9
- Youth Concert Band - Grades 6-9
- Youth Wind Ensemble – Grades 9-12
- Youth Orchestra – Grades 9-12
Audition Requirements
The audition process requires you to perform two musical components:

Solo - Please prepare one solo of your choice that best demonstrates your playing ability. Your solo should be a 1½- to 2-minute selection performed without an accompanist. Please provide a scanned copy of your solo for the adjudicators.

Required Excerpts – You will be expected to prepare all excerpts assigned for your instrument by Pacific Symphony Youth Ensembles.
