STRAVINSKY: The Firebird (accompanied by full-length animated visuals)
Stravinsky's The Firebird comes to life with with full-length animation by Fowler Amusement on the big screen above the orchestra to accompany the rhythmic energy and enchanting harmonies. Fowler Amusement writes, "For the look of the Firebird projected media, we drew inspiration from theater, dance, and classic illustrations of NC Wyeth, Arthur Rackham, and Howard Pyle from the early 20th century, among others. Our cinema influences include the greats of early cinema, as well as Zefferelli, Miyazaki et al."
You’ll not only get to enjoy the music and visuals but also commentary from Artistic and Music Director Designate Alexander Shelley as he guides you through The Firebird before it is performed.
This concert is performed without intermission.
