Pacific Symphony Pops Presents "Dolly Parton's Threads: My Songs in Symphony" Nov. 14-15 in Costa Mesa

Dolly’s songs and stories are told through a multimedia symphonic experience led by Principal Pops Conductor Enrico Lopez-Yañez

Pacific Symphony celebrates the artistry of one of America’s most beloved storytellers with “Dolly Parton’s Threads: My Songs in Symphony.” The breathtaking multimedia experience features Dolly on screen, leading audiences in a visual-musical journey of her songs, her life, and her stories. With a cast of phenomenal guest vocalists and musicians, along with new and innovative orchestrations by David Hamilton, the event features Dolly’s hit songs, including “Jolene,” “Coat Of Many Colors,” and “I Will Always Love You,” in addition to Dolly’s personal favorites and a selection from her upcoming Broadway musical.

Led by Principal Pops Conductor Enrico Lopez-Yañez, “Dolly Parton’s Threads; My Songs in Symphony” takes place Friday and Saturday, November 14-15, at 8 p.m., at the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall in Costa Mesa. 

“The threads of my life are woven together through my songs. That's why this project, Threads: My Songs in Symphony, is so special to me,” said Dolly Parton. “It's all about sharing my music and my musical journey with audiences in a new way!”

From heartfelt ballads to iconic country anthems, this special event honors the timeless music and storytelling that makes Dolly Parton a global icon. Guest vocalists include Katelyn Drye (from the married duo The Dryes), Hollie Hammel (LA/Nashville recording artist) and Julie Williams (of “Color Me Country” and a Black Opry artist). 

Additional artists include Derek Drye (acoustic guitar/dobro/lap steel/vocals), Lindsey Miller (electric/acoustic guitar), Dean Berner (banjo/mandolin), Craig Nelson (bass guitar), Ross McReynolds (drums) and Dustin Knock (technical director).

In March of 2022, Parton released the book “Run Rose Run” which she co-authored with James Patterson which sat at # 1 on the New York Times Best Sellers List for 5 weeks, a record for this decade. She also released an accompanying album of the same name with original songs inspired by the book which reached #1 on three charts simultaneously --- Country, Americana/Folk and Bluegrass Albums.
