Mona Tavakoli

Mona Tavakoli is a Los Angeles-based drummer, percussionist, singer, writer, and performer whose music unites, elevates, and connects.
She is especially known for bringing the cajón to unexpected genres like rock and pop, and has designed a signature instrument: The MT Box, produced by Latin Percussion. As a founding member of the band Raining Jane, she has spent two decades crafting original music with heart. She is currently on tour with Cyndi Lauper, Zayn, Jason Mraz, and Iranian legend Ebi.
Mona is co-founder and co-director of Rock n' Roll Camp For Girls Los Angeles, a nonprofit empowering girls and gender-expansive youth to find their voices through music education. As a cultural ambassador through American Voices Abroad, she has carried that vision across the world.
