Oliver Hakim

Oliver Hakim is an Iranian-American violinist, pianist and vocalist born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He pursued his musical studies at the University of Toronto and although studied in the Western tradition, Hakim discovered a deep and strong passion for traditional Persian music at a young age. Without ever being in Iran, Hakim studied it rigorously and learned radif and improvisation in both vocal and instrumental performance. He maintained a profound connection to his Iranian heritage and continues to do so as a proud member of the Roudaki Orchestra.
