French Horn

Henry Bond joined Pacific Symphony in 2024. Prior to joining Pacific, he was a fellow at the New World Symphony in Miami Beach where he frequently showcased his talents as a featured soloist. Highlights of his time there included performing Johann Heinichen’s Horn Concerto in F and as solo horn in Messiaen’s Des Canyons aux étoiles as part of a collaboration with the Paris-based Ensemble Intercontemporain. 

Previously, Henry held the position of Acting 2nd Horn with the Syracuse Orchestra in upstate New York. He has also performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Cincinnati Symphony, Buffalo Philharmonic, Rochester Philharmonic, Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra, and North Carolina Symphony. He has also spent summers performing with the Chautauqua Music Festival Orchestra and the Spoleto Festival USA Orchestra in Charleston, SC.

Having a passion for teaching as well as performing, Henry served as a teaching artist in initiatives at Yale University, Colburn Conservatory and New World Symphony. He currently teaches a group of talented and passionate young horn players in his online studio which includes students from around the country. He also posts educational and entertaining videos about the French horn on YouTube. 

Outside of music, Henry enjoys playing board games and is known for stopping to pet every dog he encounters. Henry received a Professional Studies Certificate at Colburn Conservatory studying with Andrew Bain, a Master’s in Music from Yale School of Music studying with William Purvis, and a Bachelor’s in Horn Performance with a performer’s certificate at the Eastman School of Music studying with Peter Kurau.
