Joseph Wen-Xiang Zhang

Joseph Wen-Xiang Zhang has been a member of Pacific Symphony's viola section since 1994. Born in Wuhan, China, he finished his studies at the Wuhan Conservatory on violin and then was concertmaster for seven years with the Orchestra of Guilin in China. After moving to California in 1989, Zhang attended La Sierra University and completed a Performance Certificate, studying with Dr. Lyndon Johnson-Taylor. In addition to winning a position with Pacific Symphony, he substitutes in the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
