Starring Broadway’s Analisa Leaming, the lavish production blends beloved songs with the beautiful sound of a full orchestra onstage
"Wouldn’t it be loverly…!” Often referred to as “one of the greatest musicals of all time,” My Fair Lady! comes to Pacific Symphony Pops in a special symphonic presentation that puts the music front-and-center for a new kind of spectacle. Audience members can watch the orchestra, conductor and Broadway performers interact onstage as the lush symphonic score fills the acoustically pristine concert hall. Broadway star Analisa Leaming (The King & I, Hello Dolly, School of Rock) takes the lead role as Eliza Doolittle, the flower seller who learns to speak like a lady from linguist Henry Higgins, performed by Trevor Martin. The musical features classic favorite songs like the romantic “I Could Have Danced All Night,” the comical “The Rain in Spain,” and the yearning “On the Street Where You Live.”
Presented by Pacific Symphony, and UIA Presents, in partnership with Black Tie Broadway, My Fair Lady! In Concert takes place April 24-25, 2026, at 8 p.m. in the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall.
“My Fair Lady! is nothing less than a fan-favorite for many Americans,” said Enrico Lopez-Yañez, principal pops conductor of Pacific Symphony, who oversees the artistic direction of the Pops series. “When programming the concert, ensuring we cultivated a team of impeccable talent was a top priority. Everyone from the cast to the creative team, orchestra and beyond brings a uniquely special touch to the performance and truly honors and appreciates the Broadway production, elevating the final product and audience experience.”
Led by conductor Adam Turner, the production features a star ensemble of supporting characters played by Evan Bertram, Jackson Hurt, Michele McConnel and Martin Fisher. The creative team includes Curt Olds, original director/choreographer/adapter; Becky Elizabeth Stout, director/choreographer; Matthew Stephens, music director and Abbey Hunt, associate director/associate choreographer. The performance is adapted from George Bernard Shaw’s play and Gabriel Pascal’s motion picture “Pygmalion”; original production directed by Moss Hart.
My Fair Lady! made its very first Broadway debut on March 15, 1956, taking the audience by storm. Directed by Moss Hart, the production broke records, running for 2,717 performances and taking home six Tony Awards and 10 nominations, including Best Musical, kick-starting its ranking as one of the most reputable and successful musicals in history.
Written in partnership by lyricist Alan Jay Lerner in collaboration with composer Frederick Loewe, My Fair Lady! is a blended work of European musical sophistication with sharp American theatrical storytelling. The exceptional duo worked wonders together as Lerner was a highly regarded American writer and lyricist, and Loewe was a talented musician.
The pair’s creative strengths complemented each other seamlessly, enabling a quick forging of creativity and alignment. Lerner’s background brought about a witty, literate and character-focused energy, while Loewe’s offered the skills of a classically trained pianist, the style of Viennese operetta and romantic sensibility—creating the effortless synergy within My Fair Lady! In addition to the genius talent of the two, there was the symbiotic working process they shared. Their relationship was built on patience, mutual respect, and shared musical ambition—all of which contributed to the musical’s overnight success.
“Pacific Symphony is honored to perform such a renowned work,” continued Lopez-Yañez. “Those engaged in bringing the musical to life model the same essence of its original interpreters, Lerner and Loewe, in that there is a collaborative effort taking place to bring an exceptional performance to our audiences.”
My Fair Lady! is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI.
My Fair Lady! In Concert takes place Friday-Saturday, April 24-25 at 8 p.m. in the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall. Tickets start at $50. For more information or to purchase tickets, call (714) 755-5799 or visit https://www.pacificsymphony.org/show-details/my-fair-lady-in-concert.
