OC Can You Play?


This fall, community musicians ages 22 and older from across Orange County had the unique opportunity to play in one of five chamber ensembles led by Pacific Symphony conductors and musicians. The event included:

  • Flute Choir led by Pacific Symphony Principal Flutist Ben Smolen
  • Clarinet Choir let by Pacific Symphony Principal Clarinetist Joe Morris
  • Brass Choir led by Pacific Symphony Assistant Conductor Roger Kalia
  • Percussion Ensemble led by Pacific Symphony Principal Percussionist Rob Slack.
  • String Orchestra led by Pacific Symphony Cellist Ian McKinnell

On May 8, 2017, community musicians ages 22 and older from across Orange County had the unique opportunity to play alongside Pacific Symphony on the stage of the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall, under the baton of Music Director Carl St.Clair. The group performed an excerpt from Der Rosenkavalier by Richard Strauss.
