Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County“Children within our programs now have the opportunity to experience the talent, imagination and music of a symphony – an experience that may not have been made possible without the generous support of the Pacific Symphony.”

Big Brothers Big Sisters of OCWith the help of volunteers, donors and advocates, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County brings caring role models into the lives of children through a one-to-one mentor-ship. The Tustin-based nonprofit organization currently serves more than 2,000 children and targets the at-risk and underprivileged youth throughout our communities. With each match, adult volunteers serve as a mentor and companion during important developmental years. Agency staff strive for matches that are not only safe and well-suited to each child’s needs, but also harmonious and built to last. Each match is monitored by trained staff, ensuring safety and fulfillment in the relationship. The impact of these one-to-one relationships is far-reaching. The Big Brothers Big Sisters program has been proven to reduce a child’s risk of dropping out of school, becoming violent, using drugs and alcohol and falling victim to other negative cycles that threaten our society. Research also shows that these youth are more confident of their performance in schoolwork and get along better with their families.
